What We Believe

The Bible is the inspired Word of God, without mistake and the final authority on life.

God is Creator of all things and exists as Father, Son and Spirit through which He relates to His creation.

Mankind is the special creation of God, made is His own image, but now separated in relationship to God because of our sin.

Salvation is by God’s grace through faith in the sacrifice of Jesus as the subsitute for our sin and rescue from death.

The Church is the gathering of Christians who work together with God on His mission to rescue people with the hope of Jesus.

Church Covenant

Having been led by the Spirit of God to profess our faith in Jesus Christ and having been baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, we do now solemnly and joyfully affirm our covenant with God and with all people.

We PLEDGE to serve Jesus Christ in the fellowship of this congregation. We shall endeavor to love all and to remember one another in prayer; to share in each other’s joys; and to sustain each other in times of distress.

We aspire to be a fellowship of the concerned, where the lost may find Jesus Christ; sinners may find pardon; seekers may find meaning for their lives; and where all who come may find welcome.

We SHALL SEEK to be obedient to Christ in our daily living. Within our homes; in our labor; and at our leisure we shall strive to employ attitudes and actions which will reflect God’s Spirit working through us. Believing that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, we shall endeavor to avoid experiences which defile the body and hinder our witness.

BOUND TOGETHER in a fellowship of faith with all who confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and being a part of the universal fellowship of love for all, we shall pray and labor for a spirit of unity among all.

BELIEVING that our call to be a church is a call to witness to the world, we dedicate ourselves anew as servants of the Lord Jesus Christ. Wherever people are enslaved by ignorance, poverty, fear or intolerance, we shall strive for justice, freedom, human dignity, and a Christian peace. Wherever people are separated by barriers of hostility and distrust, we shall strive to let Christ in. We pledge our united support to World Missions and commit ourselves to fulfilling God’s missing at home.

ACKNOWLEDGING our human frailties, and ever seeking forgiveness and guidance, we profess our need of the Holy Spirit. We commit our lives to Jesus Christ, and through Him to the care, the judgment, the deliverance, and the mercy of Almighty God. AMEN.
